POSITION REPORTS TO:  General Manager
 
SUMMARY OF POSITION:   
In conjunction with policies of FRTA and FTM, incumbent coordinates accounting tasks associated with fare collection and reporting. This individual will also administer all payroll, benefits, through ADP payroll system and other human resources related functions of the company. 
 
Within the constraints of supervisory reporting requirements, and company-wide policies, incumbent is required to exercise considerable independent judgment, and a wide degree of initiative in carrying out his or her daily responsibilities in the most cost-effective and efficient manner consistent with operational requirements.
 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
 
  • Performs and reports on fare revenue procedure. Collects fares from all transit vehicles, counts money following established policies and procedures, and deposits money into FRTA directed bank account. Inspects and directs needed changes to procedures and establishes local policies or policy recommendations as required. 
  • Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports and verifies accuracy of reporting and fiscal data as required for management reporting responsibilities.
  • Performs payroll administration in ADP for all departments to include monitoring time allotments (vacation, personal, holiday, sick, etc).
  • Administers employee benefits to include health plan, disability plan, pension plan, workman’s compensation, wellness program, and other administrative programs.
  • Administers CORI checks and appropriate filing.
  • Maintains personnel files for all employees as well as employee files for accident records, medical, and payroll.
  • Administers FMLA/ SNLA program in accordance with company policies and federal law.
  • Assists in maintaining filing and records retention policies to include proper documentation, storage, and disposal of FTM and FRTA records.
  • Assists the Operations and Maintenance Managers as necessary and performs other duties and tasks as directed by the General Manager, First transit, Inc.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  
 
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Administrative or office experience preferred. 
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, QuickBooks 2021, ADP payroll systems.
  • Good verbal, written and relational communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively and positively interact with the public, passengers, the client and other community agencies.
  • Knowledge of standard office practices.
  • Experience handling money is required.
